Hearthstone 10th Anniversary AR Filter

For Hearthstone’s 10th anniversary celebration, I contributed to the official AR filter featured on Instagram. I modeled and textured the festive party hat using Cinema 4D and Meta Spark Studio, ensuring it reflected the whimsical aesthetic of the Hearthstone universe. Meta shut down the Spark platform as of January 2025. I will be creating more AR Filters on other platforms in the future.

Modeling & AR Optimization Workflow

The party hat was modeled in Cinema 4D using a low-poly workflow to ensure real-time performance in AR. UVs were unwrapped manually for precise texture placement, and materials were created using layered shaders to achieve a stylized look consistent with the Hearthstone aesthetic.

Hats on

The final asset was baked and exported as an FBX, then imported into Meta Spark Studio, where it was mapped to user and tested across multiple devices. We even got it to work on pets.
